Western Conference team announces huge signing of 6-foot-4 Russian star goaltender

The Blackhawks now have an imposing figure in their crease with the signing of 6'4" goaltender Stanislav Berezhnoy to a 2 year entry level contract.
The Chicago Blackhawks have already made a big change to their goaltending, sending Petr Mrazek to the former divisional foe Detroit Red Wings in March and also acquiring Spencer Knight from the Florida Panthers.
Now, the Panthers have added another physically imposing goalie to their rotation with the signing of 6'4" Stanislav Berezhnoy.
Berezhony recently had his contract terminated by HC Dinamo Saint Petersburg of the VHL, otherwise known as the Supreme Hockey League, in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
The Blackhawks already have Drew Commesso, who is expected to continue his development with the AHL's Rockford Ice Hogs. Berezhony is now expected to try and compete for playing time alongside him.
The Blackhawks additionally have both Arvid Soderblom and Laurent Brossoit under contract, though Brossoit was not able to play this year after being signed from the Winnipeg Jets.
Whether Berezhony can challenge for a roster spot in training camp remains to be seen. But at worst, he'll provide depth in the AHL and be available for a call-up in the event of an injury to one of Chicago's starters.
When talking about his current goaltending situation, Davidson recently had this to say:
I feel very confident and happy with our goaltending situation right now. Obviously, Spencer coming in and continuing to understand our system, and under a new coaching staff, some new defensive systems that he'll be playing within. So I think that'll be great for him to continue to get comfortable here.
Drew's done enough and has enough body of work that we can trust him to carry the mail down there and really take the net and run with it and take on a really good workload to further his development.
