Spencer Knight was brought in for one thing: to be the future starting goaltender of the Chicago Blackhawks. Knight was brought over from the Florida Panthers, involved in the Seth Jones trade, at just 23 years old.

Now, with his birthday just a couple weeks ago, at 24, he's wise beyond his years.
Sure, he has things to work on, like his glove side, but that comes with time, and he's clearly learned a lot from Sergei Bobrovsky, his former goalie partner, because he's wise beyond his years.
Today, Knight gave advice to Jacob Fowler, the best goalie in the AHL on the Laval Rocket and top Montreal Canadiens prospect.
He said that he needs to learn what it's like to be a pro in the big leagues before anything else.
Spencer spoke to Fowler, as they're both Boston College alumni, about whether or not Fowler wanted to go pro, and Fowler decided to stay that extra year and was selected in the third round by the Canadiens.
Fowler is 20 years old, so Knight has four years on him and is obviously already pro. He recently had an interview about him and Fowler's relationship with RG Media:
«He just asked me some questions about pro hockey and a little guidance on the process. He's a smart kid; he's a great goalie, and he's on the right track, but I told him that it takes time, and like we discussed before, you need to learn what it means to be a pro before you really make it. He's on the right path now in Laval, and I'm sure he'll be in Montreal soon, but also when the time is right.»

At the end of the season, Knight had an interview with Blackhawks media. He said that this is where he wants to be, and that when the Blackhawks are a winning hockey team, it's going to be fun.
Spencer also mentioned that he realizes where the team is, and is excited for the future. Having all that in his mind at a young age is incredible, and is exactly what you want out of him. He has a mindset of a future Stanley Cup winning netminder.
Knight already has that mentorship ability and seems to be an upbeat and respected person in the locker room, and that'll go a very long way.
