The Chicagon Blackhawks have completed a roster move with their 2024 third round draft pick AJ Spellacy on Wednesday.

General manager Kyle Davidson has announced that the club has sent A.J. Spellacy to the Rockford IceHogs.
Spellacy was a third-round, 72nd overall pick for the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2024 NHL draft and impressed many at camp.
The 19-year-old forward was a standout at the 2024 training camp, and many believed that he had the ability to make the Blackhawks' roster, he is deemed one of the fastest skaters in the OHL.
For those who don't know Spellacy is a multi-sport athlete who once had five NCAA football scholarships.
(Hockey) was one of those things that I just did for fun when football was really what I focused on, AJ said. But once I grew older, I started to really love hockey. I think I just had God-given abilities for hockey and I started to really love the game so I thought if I really worked at it that I could be a longtime player in the NHL.
The Westlake, Ohio native just concluded his third season with the Windsor Spitfires in the OHL. Spellacy, 19, recorded 37 points (18g,19a) in 62 regular season games this year. During Windsor's playoff run, the forward snagged three points in five games.
