Chicago Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno has sent a clear message to general manager Kyle Davidson on the approach to take heading into the off-season, and he wants several players gone.

Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno has been the most vocal player of the season and his recent call out highlights the urgency for the team to get rid of players that aren't 'emotionally invested' in playing for the city of Chicago.
It's my job, the captain said. I knew what I signed up here to do: try to move this forward. Whether it's in increments or big jumps, we've still got to try to push this thing forward.

In the midst of moving forward, it appears he and Kyle Davidson have a very close relationship and may discuss roster moves together, to assure that they benefit the team.
But will Kyle Davidson listen to Foligno's call out?
That's where you separate yourself as a guy who really cares or a guy that's just [motivated] when it's convenient, right? We're weeding out some of those things in here. We need guys who want to be a part of this. It's not easy. It's not for the faint of heart. It's hard. It's an emotional roller coaster a lot of days. But we're hoping we can start to solidify ourselves. It's [about] making sure every guy, to a man - whoever is going to be a part of this - understands the job that's going to be needed down the stretch, into the summer and going into next season. Said Foligno

Foligno then assured fans who are wanting a quick answer to hold their horses, while delivering a message to management on not wanting to get left behind while other teams are improving their roster.
I know fans and everybody want a quick answer . . . but this is the hard part of what we're trying to accomplish, he said. You're doing it on the fly. You're not doing it while everyone else is sitting idle; you're doing it while other teams are getting better, while teams are ramping up. It's a competitive league, and that's why you don't want to get left behind.

With the off-season now in play, it will be in no time that roster moves begin taking place and even free agent signings, which the open market will begin on July 1st.
