As the Chicago Blackhawks' season is over, Lukas Reichel is gearing up for the next chapter of his hockey journey. The 21-year-old forward, selected by the Blackhawks in the first round of the 2020 NHL Draft, is set to join the Rockford IceHogs for the AHL's Calder Cup playoffs.
Reichel, the nephew of former NHL player Robert Reichel, is looking to bounce back after a challenging season. Known for his speed and skill, he aims to harness his talent more effectively and consistently.
"I'll focus on the playoffs and they said I'll go to the AHL," Reichel commented. "It's good to play playoff games, play hard. We'll see how it goes. I hope not, but if we lose early, I can still go to the World Championships, but I don't want to think about that. I believe we have a really good team to win the Calder."
Joining Reichel in Rockford are other promising Blackhawks prospects, including defenseman Wyatt Kaiser, Ethan Del Mastro, and Nolan Allan, as well as goalie Drew Commesso.
