When the Chicago Blackhawks demolished the Anaheim Ducks recently, one of their unsung players reached a milestone.

That was Blackhawks, right-wing Philipp Kurashev who in the last ten games on the wing of Connor Bedard, he has thrived posting 4 goals and 4 assists for 8 points.

Like Bedard, he has elevated his play recently and found a home in the top line and the 1st power-play unit. A verifiable utility knife for the team.

Kurashev has been in the NHL as a regular since 2020-2021, during the Bubble Season.

He had only been sent down to the Rockford IceHogs, once in his career for 3 games the next season in 2021-2022.

But his recent milestone is an impressive one, as some 1st round picks of the Blackhawks continue to struggle, Kurashev is thriving.

In 251 games with the Blackhawks, Kurashev has scored 36 goals and 66 assists for 102 points in the NHL.

His 101st came against the Anaheim Ducks, where he had a 4-point, 2 goal, and 2 assist night where the Blackhawks would go on a duck hunt, ending them with a definitive 7-2 score.

Kurashev was a steal, as he was picked 120th overall in the 4th round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

In 60 games played this season, he has 40 points (13G, 27A) and will need to continue to develop his defensive capabilities, but his offensive skills are improving.
