Patrick Kane reveals his family's plan to return to Chicago when he decides to retire

Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Kane opened up on his plans to return to Chicago, where he spent the first 17 years of his NHL career.
Patrick Kane signed a one-year deal valued at $3 million with the Detroit Red Wings earlier in the summer, but his ties in Chicago are still felt.
In an interview on the Carmen & Jurko podcast, based in Chicago, Kane opened up on the start of his NHL career with the Hawks, when he was only 19 years old.
He talked about the city, the Cubs, how he brought success to the franchise, and how he loves to come back in the offseason:
"What a great city to come to, I was so overwhelmed by the city. The traffic, the people, the cars, how big the city was.
The first thing I did when I came in was go to a Cubs game, I threw out the first pitch and sang in the 7th-inning stretch, and I was just like, 'What am I getting myself into here? All of a sudden, you just grow to love the city and everything about it. I spend my summers here and I consider it my home.
It's great coming back, I love the city and I love it in the summertime. Obviously, I had an amazing time playing here and what we were able to accomplish with those three Cups, too.
It's a special city and it holds a special place in my heart.
We love coming back here, and it's got so much to offer. Obviously, we come back during the offseason, but it's meant so much to me."

Kane then stated he and his family will likely return to Chicago to when it comes time for retirement.
At age 36, scored 21 goals and 38 assists in 72 games with the Detroit Red Wings last season.
