Captain Nick Foligno wants to lead Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks to a higher level of play in the United Center this season.

Nick Foligno hasn't been the captain of the Chicago Blackhawks for long, but he's helped build a culture here.
A culture that is dedicated to winning, by vision, and (soon) in practice, as he's trained up not only Connor Bedard, but other stars such as Landon Slaggert and Artyom Levshunov.
He's been given the difficult task of overseeing the next generation of Blackhawks stars, and the next step is to build a team that produces championships.
Foligno's had the Blackhawks prospects to look up to and learn how to deal with an 82-game season. It's the basics: go about your business in a way that produces results.
Nick Foligno's says his goodbyes to Blackhawks teammates, potentially leaking his future in Chicago
Nick Foligno is in the final year of his deal with the Chicago Blackhawks. His contract expires in July, and Kyle Davidson hasn't offered an extension.
When that happens, we expect new leadership to take the reins and turn the corner on what we hope becomes a contending team.
Foligno on when he exits the Blackhawks organization:
"As much as I'm the [captain] this is their team, and I know that. I think it is exciting for me to hand it off to whoever and know it's going to be in great hands."

For the veteran forward, who plays with grit and passion on the ice, this could be the end of his career in the NHL.
For now, he'll have to keep pushing players like Frank Nazar, whom he spoke highly of at the exit interview last season, while complimenting Alex Vlasic for masturing as a player.
"I can keep going through the whole room, there is good pieces here," he said. "It's just a matter of guys realizing it but respecting it, and knowing that this wasn't good enough. We have to come in with a really different attitude of a standard next year and get to it right away and never look back."

Captain Foligno noted that Bedard's improvement was promising. For the team, they need to play better; 25-46-11 won't be acceptable this season.
