NHL Legend Adam Oates was on the Cam & Strick Podcast and the subject of Connor Bedard was brought up.

Connor Bedard was injured by a hit from the New Jersey Devils Brendan Smith resulted in Bedard donning a fishbowl for a significant amount of time during the 2023-2024 regular season.

NHL Veteran Adam Oates suggested not only is Connor Bedard's posture to blame for his inability to escape brutal hits from defenseman, he also suggested the length of his Sherwood stick is an issue.

He felt that the stick was the sticking point, as it didn't fit his size and led to the fact that Nick Foligno had to fight ten times this year, because of Bedard's lack of situational awareness.

Not only that, Bedard likes to play in areas where Oates said you shouldn't be "bobbling" the puck in the defensive zone, where he got laid out.

He also should've avoided the boarding that happened in Arizona, which resulted in his inability to avoid the Coyotes' defender which resulted in the boarding.

This critique could seem unfair, but as a professional, it seems Oates is looking out for Bedard's future health in this video and offering constructive criticism to the young rookie.
