Jonathan Toews makes his true feelings known on the Chicago Blackhawks organization prior to NHL return

The Blackhawks let the Jonathan Toews era of the franchise end in 2023, but the player has decided to make an NHL comeback and prove Chicago's GM Kyle Davidson wrong.
The Chicago Blackhawks organization has had multiple historied players pass through in recent years, which has also lead to two departures from the organization.
Those two departures were forwards Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, as they were once leaders, but no longer wanted by the organization.
With Toews confirming his injuries are healed throughout a long duration of a 'healing journey' in India, he is now set to make his NHL return.

Toews feels that this chapter in his life is closed for good, and given how GM Kyle Davidson let the veteran walk at the end of 2023 it's difficult not to relate to him.
"I honestly do think that chapter is closed," he said. "I respect what Kyle and the organization is doing. They decided a few years ago to move in a different direction and I'm all for that. ...
I don't think that's a fit for me anymore. I want to go somewhere and have a chance to be myself and play the game. I know my best hockey's going to come through that way, instead of trying to be in that role where I'm still living with the pressure of our Cup-winning days. That era's over."
