The incident occurred on Thursday night when the Blackhawks squared off against the Panthers.
The moment, Ekblad use the derogatory slang towards the fan who ended up flipping off Ekblad.
The fan clearly didn't care what Ekblad felt and what he said to him as both were taunting each other during the moment.
The Blackhawks ended up completing the humiliation as the team managed to pull off a 3-1 victory at home against the reigning Stanley Cup champions.
The Blackhawks have been working hard to find a way to get their consistency up to par.
There has been a massive goal drought across the team including a budding superstar Connor Bedard who has been goalless since the end of October when the team faced off against the Dallas Stars.
Head coach Luke Richardson has worked different line combinations in different pairings to find a winning solution including putting Bedard on the wing.
That change has had limited success as he had two assists during the previous game and no points during the Panthers game.
With this win, the Blackhawks have hope that they can begin building a winning record especially with the month of November ending and December being the first real measuring stick towards the team and its lack of success.
The Blackhawks next chance to build off that win will take place on Saturday November 23rd as the team will head to Philadelphia to take on the Flyers and head coach John Tortorella. Game time will be at 1:00 PM eastern.
