Chicago Blackhawks Owner, CEO and chairman Danny Wirtz issues apology to fans and faces a load of backlash

Danny Wirtz took the role of Blackhawks owner following the passing of his father Rocky.

Recently, a new streaming deal was made and fans are not too happy with the Chicago Sports Network streaming platform. The Chicago Blackhawks are now offering an app through the Chicago Sports Network app, which is $29.99 a month to watch all three Chicago pro sports teams.

Even with the Chicago Sports Network, fans are still having troubles watching games and the Blackhawks are losing fans by the day and game.

With these issues going on, Danny Wirtz has decided to make a statement to the fan base, and fans believe it's weak.

The season ticket holders are the heart and soul of the organization and a sincere apology needs to be issued, but Wirtz issued the following:

We want everyone, anywhere, however they choose, to be able to watch Blackhawks hockey. That goal remains the same, and the Chicago Sports Network's highest priority right now is to get distribution deals done with as many carriers as possible.

As a gesture of our sincere appreciation for your patience and loyalty during this challenging period, the Chicago Blackhawks will be providing you, as a full season ticket member, with a complimentary CHSN subscription for Blackhawks games through the end of the 2024-25 regular season. You will receive instructions for how to activate that account when the service goes live on Friday.

A free subscription will be issued in the coming days for season ticket holders, which does not make much sense.

Is Wirtz managing the franchise good enough as Rocky did?
