Connor Bedard's Slump Is Over and Has Produced At A Better Pace than these elite players
The Chicago Blackhawks Connor Bedard has produced at an elite level this season. Despite Mark Messier's recent tirade against Bedard, you can see how good he is looking at this list.
Connor Bedard is producing at a better clip than a majority of elite NHL players.
In 52 games this season he's scored 45 points (15 G, 30 A) and is on pace for 70 points this year.
Let's look at someone like
Steven Stamkos, who is considered a typical "elite" NHL player. This season he's made a home with the Nashville Predators, and currently has a cap hit of $8 million.
Stamkos could be considered overpaid, considering he's on the top line for the Predators.
The $8 million dollar man, was known for producing like a superstar in Tampa Bay. Winning multiple Stanley Cups, shouldn't he still be producing around 80-100 points?
Wrong. This season he's played 52 games for the Nashville Predators. He was signed during free agency by GM Barry Trotz.
This season though he's only produced 33 points (17 G, 16 A) which puts him on pace for a miserly, 52 points.
A figure not seen since his 2013-2014 season with the Lightning, where he scored only 40 points!
This could be a new career-low for an overpaid veteran!
Stamkos has won two-Stanley Cups during his NHL career and lost one shot to the Chicago Blackhawks in 2015. How ironic, that Stamkos would also be overtaken in production by Connor Bedard this season.
Connor Bedard is set to take off as the face of the NHL, and a generational talent for the Blackhawks.
