Prepare for a fun game experience as the Chicago Blackhawks play the Dallas Stars in a special animated telecast on Saturday, March 6, at 2:30 p.m.

Fans will see a unique real-time animated version of the game, starting with a pregame show at 2 p.m. CT on NBC Sports Chicago plus. The broadcast, part of a celebration for mascot Tommy Hawk's "birthday party," will feature all the action and players in cartoon form.

Chris Vosters will be doing the play-by-play commentary from the NHL offices in New York, with about a 40-second delay for the animation conversion. Joining him are analysts Dominic Moore, Tony Granato, and Adam Burish.

It will look as pictured below:

Using NHL EDGE positional data and optical tracking, the broadcast aims to engage younger fans in a fun and innovative way.

Blackhawks president of business operations, Jaime Faulkner, expressed excitement about the partnership with NBC Sports Chicago and the NHL, saying,

"Every day, we're challenging ourselves to bring hockey to fans in new ways, and we're incredibly excited to bring the first-ever local animated game to kids across Chicagoland and beyond."
