Buffalo Sabres reportedly on the verge of acquiring $22M Chicago Blackhawks forward
The Chicago Blackhawks and the Buffalo Sabres are rumored to be engaged in trade talks surrounding a $22 million forward.
Many rumors about the Chicago Blackhawks are going around.
The team didn't make many moves this summer, and while it's not surprising for some analysts who believe the team will start the season with their current roster, others believe some trades could happen soon.
The Sabres' 14-year playoff drought is the longest active in the NHL, and even though they've been on the verge of breaking out for years now, they made more questionable moves in the offseason that leave holes to fill in the lineup.
The 30-year-old veteran brings a lot to a team with his grit, physicality, and talent. He tallied 46 points in 82 games last season in Chicago and has three years left on his $5,500,000 AAV contract with a 10-team no-trade clause.
However, to land him, Sabres GM Kevyn Adams will have to pay the price.
Such a trade could happen during the season, if not before. If the Sabres manage to stay in the playoff race and look to add depth at the trade deadline, Bertuzzi could be an interesting target.
