Blackhawks Reportedly Unhappy With How Seth Jones Handled Trade Talks
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reveals insight on the Chicago Blackhawks' standpoint with $76M defenseman Seth Jones, and it appears that they are unhappy.
New report from Elliotte Friedman confirms what the Blackhawks want in return for Seth Jones
Friedman has revealed that the Blackhawks do not want future assets including draft picks or prospects, but they want assets that will help the team right now.
Alongside that revelation by Friedman, he also made it clear that the Blackhawks are unhappy with how Seth Jones handled the once-private trade talks, as he basically went public with it.
On Seth Jones: Elliotte says "I could see the Blackhawks saying to Jones we're going to try do this but this is complicated & we need you to not do that again." Everyone knows how Jones feels & he's available but it's complicated. CHI doesn't want a futures deal they want players, "young-ish who can play now". #Blackhawks #NHL
Jones did stick it right to the media, and revealed that he would love a change of scenery.
Jones releasing that statement caught the attention of the entire NHL, and seemingly so general managers, and now his trade value may have decreased.
It will be interesting to see how the Blackhawks handle these trade talks involving Jones, with such short time until the March 7 NHL trade deadline.
