Thanks to his efforts, the Oilers have secured a valuable depth winger who brings over a thousand games of NHL experience to the team.
Following the signing, Holland spoke with internal Oilers staff members such as Kris Knoblauch and Jeff Jackson and reached out to Bill Daly to discuss Perry's addition to the team.
Perry's gritty style of play will be a huge asset to the Oilers as they prepare for the playoffs. He recently signed a league minimum contract of $775K with the team after playing 16 games for the Blackhawks, where he scored 4 goals and 5 assists for a total of 9 points.
Holland praised Perry's postseason prowess and relentless pursuit of the puck, recalling his own pursuit of the player after his buyout from Anaheim in 2019.
It looks like Perry will be in the post-season hunt again if the Oilers keep playing like they do.
