Connor Bedard led all NHL rookies in goals and points this season with 22 goals and 61 points in 68 games played in 2023-2024. But in the IIHF 2024 World Championships, Bedard looks like a ghost out there.

During Tuesday's match against Czechia, Bedard was held without a point against the Czech National Team. The Canadian team would pull off an OT victory, 4-3 but Bedard's name was mysteriously absent on the scoresheet.

He only managed to play 10 shifts, with a 8:08 TOI and one shot on goal and 2 PIMs.

There's been a theory that Bedard's first NHL season has taken a toll on his health, there's lots of speculation it may be an injury.

If this is true, this is pertinent information Bedard needs to consider as we inch closer to the 2024-2025 regular NHL season. With the possibility of a sophomore slump arriving early, this could be worrying for the Blackhawks faithful.

While the tournament progresses, Bedard will have to get his mind right and find his game again, or put aside his stubbornness and address the underlying injury.

Canada is currently in first place in Group A and will take on Slovakia on Thursday's quarterfinals.
