Significant trade has been completed to clear cap space in to sign Patrick Kane
San Jose Sharks and Detroit Red Wings completed significant trade
The Detroit Red Wings are clearing space for Patrick Kane and may have just traded away their most promising, and young defensemen.
The Red Wings have traded defensemen Jake Walman to the San Jose Sharks in return for a second-round draft pick and 'future considerations'. According to reports, this move was only made to clear cap space, the Red Wings had no option but to abandon Walman.
Red Wings making room for Patrick Kane, who's a FA and due for a pay raise on his next deal.
The trade frees up a whopping $32.77 million in cap space for Detroit, in a much needed move as they look to re-sign their pending free agents, defensemen Shayne Gostisbehere and forward Patrick Kane.
