Tragic passing of a 42 year old former hockey player occurs

At the age of 43, a former Philadelphia Flyers prospect sadly passed away.

Sad news for the Philadelphia Flyers organization and fans, are former Flyers prospect, and Lehigh Valley Phantoms player, Tony Voce has passed away.

Voce was a Philadelphia native and was a key player at Boston College during his time there. In four years, scoring 167 points in 159 games. He would later in 2004, sign with his hometown Philadelphia Flyers as an undrafted free-agent.

Voce, would spend the majority of his professional career in the minors, as he played in the AHL, with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Grand Rapid Griffins, and won the Calder Cup once in 2005.

He would later spend two seasons in Europe, playing in Germany, Finland, and Austria.

He would return home to North America in 2009 and sign on with the Ontario Reign, who weren't an AHL team at the time, but an ECHL team.
