Stan Bowman faces backlash for the mistreatment as an ex-Edmonton Oilers player breaks his silence
Former Edmonton Oilers forward Dylan Holloway felt he was disrespected last season by GM Stan Bowman, after failing to receive a qualifying offer from the GM, who has been subject to backlash thanks to bad publicity.
Holloway would break out in St. Louis, scoring 63 points (26-37) in 77 games with the Blues.
Bowman's failure to qualify someone like Holloway is a sign of incompetence, especially when he has a high offensive upside.
We haven't heard much from Holloway on the topic until he appeared on the Cam & Strick Podcast, where he'd admit to feeling disrespected by GM Stan Bowman after the ordeal.
"It rubbed me the wrong way how little Edmonton thought of me in our contract negotiations. I'm an Alberta boy, I wanted to go back to a team we went so far with but as soon as Edmonton didn't reciprocate that feeling I was all in on St. Louis."
General Manager Stan Bowman's Incompetence Lost A 60-point player in Dylan Holloway
Dylan Holloway would admit to feeling rubbed the wrong way by the situation, as a hometown kid.
He was all in when it came to staying with the group of guys he went to the Stanley Cup finals with.
However, due to a lack of a qualifying offer, Bowman
robbed him of that opportunity once he realized that Edmonton didn't match the Blues' offer sheets.
This is how the Blues received two great prospects who didn't get the right kind of ice time to develop in Edmonton. And why they'll be a thorn in the side of the Blackhawks for the future.
We can thank our former General Manager for that one.
Maybe the
backlash he's receiving is well deserved?
