WATCH: Sidney Crosby Hits FIVE Milestones in One Game!

«Every moment counts.» «You love to see it!» «Crosby doing Crosby things.» Just some of the catch phrases Penguins fans have come to know and love, and use. Last night, there's no doubt all 3 (and more) were said, repeatedly.
In a must-win game between Pittsburgh and Nashville, the Penguins finally broke their 4 game losing streak (and 6 losses in their past 8 games), and gained those coveted 2 points in the NHL standings by beating the Predators in OT, 3-2. Playing in his 1100th game (Milestone #1), who better to start the scoring off than Crosby, himself? In what ended up being one of the Penguins' only three shots in the first period, Sid sailed in after a line change, took a pass from new linemate Rikard Rakell, and buried it behind Rittich for the first goal of the game. The Preds tied it in the first, no one scored in the second, and Nashville took the lead in the 3rd, 2-1. And as if Pittsburgh fans weren't grateful enough to have Jason Zucker back in the line-up, he reminded us by tying the game with just over 11 minutes left in the 3rd. And for his second point of the night, Crosby had the primary assist, bringing his point total for the evening to 1399.
Well, if you know Sidney Crosby at all, there was no doubt in your mind that he would score that essential OT goal, from a ridiculous angle, on the edges of his skates, on a perfect pass from Rikard Rakell. With that goal, Sid earned his 3rd point of the night, 1400th overall (Milestone #2), also making him the 7th fastest player in NHL history to reach that particular milestone (Milestone #3).


But the records don't stop there. That OT goal was Crosby's 19th, which puts him in first place on the NHL's all-time overtime points list with 38 (Milestone #4). It ALSO ties him for second place for most OT goals in NHL history (Milestone #5). Who's he tied with? Jaromir Jagr,
This game was a «must win» statistically, as well as mentally for this club, and once again, our Captain stepped up and got us to where we needed to be. Congratulations, Sid, on all your Milestone Moments. You've earned, and deserve, every single one.
