O'Connor received 2 minutes for boarding and 5 for fighting, while Duhaime was handed out 2 for instigating and 5 for fighting. Just over 3 minutes later, Curtis McDermid takes out Marcus Foligno by way of a knee-to-knee hit, and got 5 a 5 minute misconduct penalty. Practically the entire time was ready to go after him for that, but fights were held off, as Foligno was still down on the ice, clearly in a great amount of pain.
By the end of the game Minnesota had a total of 27 PIM, and 5 Power Play opportunities. Colorado had a total of 32 PIM and 4 Power Play opportunities. Neither team scored any PPGs, but the Wild took home the win with a score of 4-1.
Coach Evason had some words for the Avalanche players, after the game.
