Major injury update issued by the Blackhawks
The Blackhawks' injured list continues to improve. One forward will hopefully be returning soon.
One of those forwards who will resume skating soon is
Andreas Athanasiou. A 20-goal scoring winger, the Blackhawks have missed.
After being on the injured list for three months because of his groin injury, he resumed skating on Saturday.
The fast-skating, skillful winger last played on November 9th and had played 11 games before the injury.
His season totals four assists and, he was also one of
Connor Bedard's many linemates.
We had not received many updates regarding Athanasiou's status until January 15th, when coach Richardson announced he'd undergone surgery for the injury.
Last week, head coach Luke Richardson announced that Athanasiou would return to skating soon, and it has come true.
Athanasiou previously experienced a groin injury while he was a member of the Los Angeles Kings, and it flared up again this season.
The team is hungry for offense Athanasiou could be another solution for the team.
There is no current timetable for his return.
