The Pittsburgh Penguins were in light of losing their trio: Kris Letang, Evgeni Malkin, and Sidney Crosby, but Letang and Malkin both ended up staying. The trio won three Stanley Cups in 2009, 2016, and 2017.
Well, they are now in danger of losing their cornerstone of the franchise since 2006 and Captain, Sidney Crosby.
Crosby's contract is up after this season, and both sides have tried to come up with something, but to no avail.
Malkin chipped in and said in an interview on RG.org that he doubts Crosby will go anywhere.
"Pittsburgh is Crosby. Crosby is Pittsburgh. No one in Pittsburgh would understand if he changed teams. Although anything can happen, sometimes things happen that have a one percent chance of happening. But before signing my current contract, we talked. And he hold me that the Penguins are us: me, him and (Kris) Letang. I signed my contract. He will probably make the same decision."
