The Los Angeles Kings are ready to bring back forward Corey Perry to play his 1st game in a Kings sweater after having been injured before training camp.

Not many fans of the Los Angeles Kings would have ever guessed that Corey Perry, who played several years with the divisional foe Anaheim Ducks, would ever be wearing their sweater.
But it became reality this summer when Perry signed with the Kings for 1 year after having played nearly the last 2 years with the Edmonton Oilers, helping them get to the SCF twice in a row only to fall short on both occasions.
Perry was hurt before training camp and had to undergo surgery, and he hasn't been able to play a single game with the Kings, but he's getting ready to make his debut soon.
Per the Kings, Perry is ready to play and will hit the ice tonight against the St. Louis Blues.

Corey Perry is in his 1st year with the Los Angeles Kings

Perry was taken with the 28th overall pick by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and played over a decade in a Ducks sweater, helping them win the Stanley Cup in 2007.
He's played for several teams since then but has earned the unfortunate distinction of having lost in the SCF multiple times with multiple different teams. He came up short with the Dallas Stars in 2020, the Montreal Canadiens in 2021, the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2022, and the Oilers in 2024 and 2025.
Perry actually helped the Oilers beat the Kings in each of the last 2 years in the playoffs but decided to take on a new challenge and sign with the team that Edmonton has actually beaten in the WCQF 4 straight years.
So far in his career, Perry has 935 points (448G, 487A). He also briefly played for the Chicago Blackhawks but had his contract terminated after an investigation found he had acted inappropriately with a member of the team staff.
