The Chicago Blackhawks organization is mourning the loss of legend Stan Mikita, who passed away at the age of 78, seven years ago to this day.

In 2018, Chicago Blackhawks icon Stan Mikita, passed away at the age of 78.
It was a long battle with Lewy body dementia for Mikita, which was heartbreakingly lost, the hockey world immediately felt his loss.
He debuted for the Blackhawks during the 1958-59 season and remained a key player in their lineup all the way until 1980.

Stan Mikita still holds impressive Blackhawks franchise-records

He is the fastest player and is currently the franchise leader in points with 926 assists alongside 1,467 points tallied up in his 1,396 games played in the NHL. He sits second in goal leaders (541), compared to Bobby Hull's 604.
