On Wednesday night, a former Chicago Blackhawks player will be able to seek revenge on his old team only a few weeks after being traded.
The German forward was rumored to be looking for a fresh start, and with the Hawks' deep prospect pool, his time in Chicago ran out.
In the end, the Vancouver Canucks ended up sending a fourth-round draft pick to Chicago to get him.
Now, nearly two weeks after the trade, the player, who still hasn't scored a point since becoming a member of the Vancouver Canucks organization, will have an opportunity to get the monkey off his back.
Lukas Reichel To Face Hawks For The First Time Since Being Traded To Vancouver
While this'll be interesting as Bedard faces his hometown team, Hawks fans will be able to see Reichel in action in his new uniform for the first time since the trade.
According to Ben Pope, a reporter covering the Blackhawks for the Chicago Sun-Times, Reichel had dinner with 14 of his former teammates last night, but there won't be any friendship on the ice during the game.
Pope also reported Reichel's words when he said he wanted to show his new organization that they made the right move by acquiring him on the trade market for a draft pick.
Here's what he posted on X:
This will be a great opportunity for Chicago to bounce back from their three straight losses.
As for Canucks fans, they're hoping that tonight will be the push needed by Reichel to gain momentum and find his rhythm in Vancouver as he faces the team that drafted him 17th overall in 2020.
