Trade completed between the Chicago Blackhawks and Montreal Canadiens: A Kyle Davidson masterclass
The Original 6 foes Chicago Blackhawks and Montreal Canadiens made a trade with one another in July of 2022 that Montreal could eventually regret.
It was in July of 2022 that the Original 6 foes Montreal Canadiens and Chicago Blackhawks, who played each other plenty of times over the years in the early days of the NHL before the 1967 expansion, made a trade with one another.
Dach was taken with the 3rd overall pick by the Blackhawks in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, but he didn't come anywhere near close to living up to the potential that Chicago envisioned.
But Nazar, who they took with the 13th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft that they got back from the Canadiens for Dach, is a different story.
He's only appeared in 57 total NHL games but he's displayed tremendous potential, so much so that the Blackhawks signed him to a new 7 year contract earlier in the summer.
If Nazar develops into the star that the Blackhawks envision, Montreal could very much regret trading the pick that allowed Chicago to take him.
Frank Nazar could be a building block for Chicago
The face of the Blackhawks is
Connor Bedard, who was taken 1st overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
But Nazar has the chance to make a name for himself in Chicago if he continues his upward trend, and could eventually be a big part of getting the Blackhawks back into playoff contention.
