The Chicago Blackhawks have signed top prospect, Aidan Thompson, to an entry-level contract today.

Aidan Thompson has decided to turn pro after spending the last three seasons with Head Coach David Carle and the University of Denver.
While they won't be making it to the NCAA Championship this season, there's a silver lining for the Blackhawks prospect as he will make the jump into the organization.
The deal reportedly pays Aidan Thompson an AAV of $895K for two years. The contract offers Thompson a PTO with the Rockford IceHogs, and his two-year ELC begins during the 2025-2026 season.
The 23-year-old forward was a third-round pick for the Chicago Blackhawks, 90th overall in the 2022 draft. Another member of the same draft class who we saw the team pick Frank Nazar and Kevin Korchinski.
He originally started with the Denver Pioneers as a center, where he'd spent two seasons in that role.
Head Coach David Carle would shift him to the left wing, which was the right move as his offensive production experienced an uptick, scoring 55 points (21 goals, 34 assists) in 44 games.
Thompson was a Blackhawks prospect who was a part of the Pioneers' run to the NCAA championship last season under David Carle.
He'd attempt to keep the team in the hunt for another championship, scoring the only goal for the Pioneers against Western Michigan on Thursday night.
Now, out of the championship hunt, he can find himself a new home in Rockford and is another building block for the Blackhawks' future.
In 120 games with the Pioneers, he's scored 117 points (42 goals, 75 assists).
