The Chicago Blackhawks training camp turned into a scary scene today, as defenseman Ty Henry spilled into the boards, causing IceHogs coach Jared Nightingale to step in and guide him off the ice with the training staff.

The Chicago Blackhawks' training camp turned into a scary scene today.
Defenseman Ty Henry was training with the Blackhawks prospects who have shown up to take the next step in their careers. Whether it be by learning a new skill or working with coaches to improve a pain point, for Ty Henry, it was all pain.
He'd spill into the boards and would land on his back, while it looked as if his knee collided with the boards.
Henry would roll over in pain at first and then begin to favor his knee, clutching it in agony, while Jared Nightingale would help make sure Henry left the ice safely.
Fortunately, there were no major injuries or scrums reported today during training camp, but bad blood does happen from time to time.

AJ Spellacy and Aidan Thompson Collide

There did come to a point during camp today, where tempers would flare. AJ Spellacy, a forward who models hhis game after Tom Wilson, would be cut on the cheek from Aidan Thompson's skate.
In what seemed to be retaliation after a hit from Spellacy, the two players would engage in verbal fisticuffs, as it would be an ugly look if Spellacy went the route of feeding him gloves in a tilt.
Spellacy wouldn't let Thompson forget what he did and would mouth off on his way off the ice to get stitched up.
It seems that the competitive juices might be flowing, but they shouldn't be hurting each other in the process, especially as future teammates in the AHL or NHL.
Spellacy originally drafted 72nd overall in the 3rd-round of the 2024 NHL Draft, and is a multisport player. We think he'd have no issues defending himself, but chose to hold back, a sign of sportsmanship even after the chirping.
