Per NHL analyst Emily Kaplan, the NHL has cancelled what they originally planned as a sendoff at UBS Arena before players went overseas to play in the Olympics.
The NHL had originally planned to have a special sendoff for the players who will be participating in the 2026 Milan Olympics, which is the first time that NHL players have participated in the Olympics since 2014.
But those plans have now changed, and there has also been an announcement about the NHL All-Star game for the following year.
Per NHL analyst Emily Kaplan, the NHL has cancelled what they originally planned as a sendoff at UBS Arena and will instead be holding the traditional NHL All-Star Game and skills competition a year later in the venue:
"All Star news: NHL canceling Olympic sendoff event at UBS Arena in February. NHL & NHLPA allowing players to focus on their preparation and travel to Milan.
Traditional NHL All Star Game & Skills Competition is returning following year: Feb 5-7 2027 at UBS on Long Island."

Last season, there was no NHL All-Star game, and players instead participated in the highly successful
4 Nations Faceoff.
The All-Star Game and skills competition coming to UBS Arena will be the 1st time that the still relatively new home of the New York Islanders, which opened in late 2021, will host an event on behalf of the League.
There was no NHL All-Star Game last season
As mentioned, the NHL didn't have an All-Star game last season and instead had several players participate in the highly successful 4 Nations Faceoff that featured Canada, the United States, Sweden, and Finland.
Both games between Canada and the US drew large audiences in both nations and were regarded as some of the best non-NHL hockey action that fans had seen in a long time.
