Former Blackhawks Gets The Nod In Net Tonight Against Sweden

Former Chicago Blackhawks goalie Kevin Lankinen has found himself in new territory tonight, as he will be the starting goalie for Finland for tomorrow's Four Nations Face-Off match.
The match set for tonight's game in the Four Nations Face-Off will see Finland and Sweden battle on the ice.
After Sweden's OT loss to Team Canada this week, there's no doubt they'll be working to absolve their guilt of a loss to one of the best teams in the tournament.
The responsibility of stopping all the high-danger chances for Finland tonight will be up to Kevin Lankinen.
This was after
Juuse Saros would give up six goals against Team USA, who would demolish the Finns, 6-1.
They need another option in the net, and Lankinen is the next best guy on the team to deliver a solid performance.
The game will take place tomorrow at 1 PM on ESPN+.
Lankinen has been a fill-in for the starting position, as the Canucks have been without
Thatcher Demko for the majority of the season.
And under Rick Tocchet's coaching,
Lankinen has shown that he can be a great goalie in the right circumstances.
This season with the Canucks he has a 19-8-7 record, with a 2.53 GAA, and a .905 save percentage.
If you don't recall, his first season with the Chicago Blackhawks saw him put up impressive numbers.
Similar to what we're seeing now.
In 2020-2021 he'd show up for the Blackhawks playing 37 games, with a record of 17-14-5, 3.01 GAA, and a .909 save percentage.
Perhaps after this season, we can dispel the notion that he's a bust especially if he outperforms Juuse Saros in international play.
