In the latest stat showdown between Chicago Blackhawks' rising star Connor Bedard and hockey legend Patrick Kane, Bedard once again comforted fans on the loss of Patrick Kane from the organization.

Bedard scored a power-play goal against the Dallas Stars, helping the Blackhawks win 3-2 and boosting his rookie stats to 22 goals and 59 points.

This achievement puts Bedard ahead of Kane's rookie record of 21 goals back in 2007-08. But despite surpassing Kane's goal count, Bedard still has a way to go to match Chicago's rookie scoring records.

The top benchmark for rookie goal-scoring in Chicago is 43 goals, achieved by Steve Larmer during the 1982-83 season. Larmer's impressive performance earned him the Calder Trophy, highlighting his talent alongside iconic Blackhawks like Denis Savard and Al Secord.

Bedard's strong offensive play is clear in his league-leading 198 shots on goal, with four more added in the recent game against the Stars. As Bedard continues to excel, he faces tough competition from fellow rookie defenseman Brock Faber of the Minnesota Wild in the race for this season's Calder Trophy.
