The Chicago Blackhawks season is right around the corner, but the prospect training camp is well underway. On Thursday, there were two instances where things heated up at the camp, one being a skate catching AJ Spellacy up high and Ty Henry taking a rough spill into the boards, hurting his leg.

First, Spellacy body checked Aidan Thompson.
Afterwards, Spellacy took a skate to the cheek in the corner.
After Spellacy got back up, Thompson skated over to him and said a couple words, possibly about the check. Spellacy took action and gave him a push to the back of the helmet before going off the ice.
"AJ Spellacy just took a skate to the cheek, and he's off to the dressing room.

This was moments after he delivered a hit on Aidan Thompson, who skated by and said something after. Spellacy barked back on his way off.

Competitive juices are flowing. Love it. #Blackhawks."
When talking to the media, AJ said that it was just the competitive nature of hockey and nothing else.
"AJ Spellacy on his exchange with Aidan Thompson: "That was just us being competitive. When you're scrimmaging, that's hockey. That was just the competitive side of us."

Blackhawks defenseman Ty Henry injured in practice

Later on in the practice, Ty Henry took a trip into the boards, and when he got up, he couldn't put any weight on his leg. It was later announced by Rockford IceHogs Head Coach Jared Nightingale that he was still being evaluated and that it's an ankle injury.
"Blackhawks defenseman prospect Ty Henry takes a hard spill into the boards and leaves the ice with assistance from the training staff. Looks like he couldn't put much weight on his leg."
"Rockford IceHogs head coach Jared Nightingale said it's an ankle injury for Ty Henry and he's still being evaluated. Severity unknown right now."
The kids are bringing the fire in camp, and it's a lovely thing to see.
Obviously, you don't want anyone to get hurt, but it's a part of the game.
There are limited spots left on the roster with all of the top prospects coming in and contract extensions being signed, so they're going to have to continue to bring more fire to the table if they want a shot at cracking the roster.
