Chicago Blackhawks announce the comeback of the iconic 90s jersey fans all love
Today, the CHGO Sports Podcast had on the President of Business Operations for the Blackhawks Jamie Faulkner on the show and she addressed that the team will be bringing back an iconic Black alternate from the 90s.
While fans are hopeful to see more alternate styles of jerseys worn on the ice, it appears, according to Jamie Faulkner, the Black alternate will return.
Chicago Blackhawks: Back in Black? Not Quite Yet
This season could've been the perfect year to bring back the '90s Alternate, which fans adored.
According to Faulkner, who brought up what could be considered a reasonable answer as to why the team won't be debuting another jersey, they already debuted the centennial sweater this year.
She states that the iconic black 90s jersey will be making a return, and it's a matter of when, not if.
In order to keep merchandise costs low for fans, they won't be putting out another jersey this season.
In 2024-25, all fans had access to was the iconic Winter Classic, which debuted in January against the St. Louis Blues.
It's been worn as an alternate near the end of the year but didn't have the gravitas the '90s black alternate has.

Diehards will buy the uniforms regardless, and given how iconic the
