Chicago Blackhawks to place 900-game NHL veteran on waivers, plan to assign to AHL's Rockford Icehogs

The Chicago Blackhawks are the worst team in the league. Obviously, there are a lot of problems. But one of the biggest problems is TJ Brodie.

Sadly for Brodie, he'll see himself sent down to the AHL's Rockford Icehogs in no time due to his poor play, as he's soaking up a valuable lineup spot for the youth to bloom in Chicago.

It's going to be an emotional and sad move for Brodie, as this appears to define the ending of his NHL career, at 34-years of age.

TJ Brodie is the worst defenseman on this team. He's the worst stat wise, but you don't even have to look at his stats- just watch him play.

Brodie is always out of position, never there on the blue line when he's needed, and is always flatfooted, especially in one-on-one situations.

This season, Brodie has two goals and six assists, tallying up to eight points in 34 games. The kicker: he's a -15.

Brodie was out on the ice for two goals in the game against the Buffalo Sabres on Friday.

For some reason, Sorensen thought it was a good idea to put Brodie and Seth Jones together last night, and it backfired completely. Jones finished the night as a -3 and Brodie a -2. However, on the impact card, Brodie found himself on the bottom of the card again.

Brodie has been on the bottom of the card three times this month. That leads the team and the only thing he leads the team in.

In the game against the Washington Capitals, Andrew Mangipane embarrassed Brodie and dangled around him easily for a goal.

Unfortunately, there is another problem. Kyle Davidson signed TJ to a two-year deal.

We're beyond the point of just scratching Brodie. Waivers are now in question and the Blackhawks should be considering it, because they cannot go on like this for another year. It's unwatchable.

Rebuild or not, this is unacceptable, as Davidson said himself that there should be a step forward this year.

Now, TJ's impeding the development of young defensemen like Wyatt Kaiser and Isack Phillips because he's taking a spot.

Brodie has to go, and the sooner, the better.
