Milan Lucic's Court Case Takes a Major Turn For The Worse
Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic faced more legal troubles on Friday, signaling a potential absence from the Bruins lineup for the foreseeable future.
Lucic participated in a court appearance via a Zoom call on Friday, addressing charges related to an alleged domestic violence incident involving his wife. The charges of assault and battery led to the scheduling of a trial, set to take place on February 16th, 2024.
"Lucic, who has been on indefinite leave from the Bruins ever since his arrest, did not have the charges against him dropped by his wife, Brittany. Today, he appeared for his pre-trial meeting in Boston on Zoom, where a trial date was set for February 16."
The Daily Hive reported
The incident occurred in November, resulting in Lucic's arrest after his wife reported an attempted choking during a 911 call. Despite the visible redness on the alleged victim's chest observed by an arriving officer, she denied any attempted strangulation during the argument.
Lucic's mugshot circulated widely on social media soon after the incident became public. The upcoming trial, set for next month, adds another month of uncertainty regarding the resolution of this legal matter.
Despite the ongoing situation, the Bruins remain committed to Lucic under his one-year deal, which carries a $1 million average annual value and cap hit for the current season.
