Lukas Reichel played for the Rockford IceHogs at the end of the season, as the Blackhawks sent him down to help out for the Calder Cup Playoffs.

He would play 4 games and in that timeframe, he would notch 4 points( 2 G, 2 A) adding onto his already productive ten-game stint in the AHL this season.

Of course, the AHL playoffs were the main reason he wasn't sent overseas already, as the IceHogs needed all the young guns on the ice they could muster.

The IceHogs would unfortunately be eliminated in 4 games during the playoffs, letting Reichel off the hook.

However, he will be joining Team Germany in the IIHF World Hockey Championship coming off of a troubled year in 2023-2024.

With the hope, that the IIHF can help Reichel continue to build the confidence he found in the AHL again when playing against his peers in international competition this season.

In IIHF play today, Lukas Reichel has continued his hot streak, with 2 assists on the day against Latvia.

Germany would secure the win, 8-1 over Latvia.
