Former Ottawa Senators' second-round draft pick, and Chicago Blackhawks' AHL affiliate, Gabriel Gagne, has been sentenced to six months in prison following his conviction for harassing and threatening an ex-girlfriend over a three-year period.

The 26-year-old pleaded guilty to charges of harassment and death threats. While acquitted of s*xual assault, one charge of assault was stayed.

According to court documents, Gagne bombarded his ex-girlfriend with incessant calls and messages, expressing hatred. He even created fake social media accounts to circumvent her blocks.

Gagne, who had signed an entry-level contract with the Senators but never reached the NHL, awaits trial for other s*xual assault allegations.
