Vancouver Canucks slide into number-one suitor for a Sidney Crosby trade if it ever came to light according to Pittsburgh Penguins reporter Josh Yohe
The Pittsburgh Penguins are off to a start that nobody could have predicted, after signing longtime team captain Sidney Crosby to an extension this off-season, they are now sitting with a league-worst -33 goal differential.
On top of that, they have a 8-12-4 record and an aging group of veterans who are not going to develop into any more of a player than they already are.
Tensions are rising in Pittsburgh, and it's been stated and is evident that a 37-year old aging Sidney Crosby is frustrated, which has sparked trade rumors.
Their version of the 'core four' include Evgeni Malkin (38), Sidney Crosby (37), Kris Letang (37) and Erik Karlsson (age 34).
With fingers pointing to their head coach Mike Sullivan being fired, which is usually the first step in getting a contending team out of a slump- heads have now turned to the possibility of Sidney Crosby being traded.
Pittsburgh Penguins reporter Josh Yohe , who covers the team for the New York Post and The Athletic, just made a stunning revelation about a possible destination for Crosby.
"If I'm Sid and I do want to be traded someday that would probably be my top choice, or right up there. I do know that he loves Tocchet and he loves Rutherford. I know he likes Patrik Allvin and there are a lot of other former Penguins on that Vancouver roster. So yeah, it all makes sense to me. I just think it's unlikely to happen. He's a creature of habit and he's incredibly comfortable here in Pittsburgh."

A Canadian-born superstar pairing up with Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes?
The Canucks may have to make a trade or two to clear cap space, potentially trading away Brock Boeser, for a much better return in Crosby.
