With the 2019-20 season currently suspended it leads to many unanswered questions regarding the 2020-21 season. The NHL will likely experience a loss of revenue and that will have a direct result on the salary cap. This had led to speculation that the salary cap will likely remain and we'll be looking at a flat cap next year of $81.5million. The Hawks already have $73million locked up in 17 players. That gives the Hawks roughly $8million to re-sign Dylan Strome, Dominik Kubalik and Drake Caggiula. To top it off they have no goalie signed for next year except for Collin Delia which means it would be really hard to keep Corey Crawford around. With Rocky Wirtz giving Stan Bowman a vote of confidence, it's going to be very interesting to see how Bowman digs himself out of this hole.
