This was Zach Parise final run at the Stanley Cup, which concluded after the Colorado Avalanche were eliminated from the playoffs.

With Matt Duchene and the Dallas Stars finishing off the Colorado Avalanche in double-overtime, Zach Parise and the Avs season has ended.

Parise, made the decision to return to play during the 2023-2024 regular season to chase a cup, but the future Hall-Of-Famer will likely never achieve that despite his past successes.

This season, Parise played 30 games for the Avalanche, with 10 points( 5 G, 5 A) during the regular season. He thought playing one more year with the Jared Bednar led Colorado Avalanche would help him secure sports most difficult trophy to attain and wasn't able to.

He would play 11 playoff games for the Avalanche, contributing 3 points( 2 G, 1 A) during the playoffs.

Parise has said that he would retire after this season. He also had an emotional exchange with Peter DeBoer. Those two went to the 2012 Stanley Cup Final with New Jersey.

Peter DeBoer shared a moment of embrace, as Parise's former head coach with the New Jersey Devils continues in the playoffs.

The moment is an emotional end to a storied 19 year career in the league, with Parise career totals: 1,091 NHL games, with 388 goals and 455 assists, totaling 793 points.

Parise will retire one of the best American-born players to play in the NHL.
