Nick Alberga of The Leafs Nation had a revelation regarding former Chicago Blackhawks coach, Joel Quenneville.
Since Sheldon Keefe's dismissal from the original-six organization, there's been speculation for Brad Treliving's next move for head coach.
With Keefe looking for a new gig in 2024-2025 there's been talk about Coach Quenneville doing the same.
Quenneville was asked about the Maple Leafs head coaching gig, and stated he was interested in returning home, to the team who drafted him to coach.
Quenneville hasn't been allowed back in the NHL, since October 2021 and the scandal that arose from the Kyle Beach case.
There could be massive controversy regarding the hire, which Brad Treliving and the Maple Leafs would have to have a massive PR campaign.
However, Quenneville needs to be reinstated before he can be hired by the Maple Leafs, or anyone in the NHL for that matter.
As for right now, no major NHL team has reached out to Quenneville and remains in exile.
