Former Blackhawks coach Hits an all time low in his career
Jeremy Colliton will have to find a new job, as the Abbotsford Canucks made a coaching move.
After firing Colliton with speed post contract talks, they decided to give Manny Malhotra the head coaching job in the AHL.
Jeremy Colliton spent the last two seasons in the AHL, coaching the Abbotsford Canucks, and even earned the praise of Vancouver's head coach Rick Tocchet.
In the two seasons Colliton coached the Abbotsford Canucks, he had a 40-25-7 record in both seasons. But in 2022-2023 the Canucks were pushed out of the playoff losing in Round 1.
Colliton headed to the AHL in 2022, after being fired from Chicago.
Now, he has been fired from the Canucks organization and has been exploring opportunities in the NHL again.
It was his wish to explore whatever opportunities were available.
And according to the Canucks Army, the only ones to literally bite so far are the San Jose Sharks as recent as 3 days ago.
This was after Colliton also turned down an extension in Abbotsford, which was reported on May 16:
What exactly is Colliton thinking?
This week, Elliotte Friedman added more weight to the speculation. On his «32 Thoughts» podcast, Friedman suggested that Colliton might be interviewing with NHL teams, including the San Jose Sharks.
«I have wondered if Colliton has been interviewed in San Jose, too,» Friedman said. «A couple of people have mentioned that maybe Colliton has a couple of NHL opportunities he's exploring.»
