The Chicago Blackhawks are going through some changes and we might see some big surprises between now and the start of the 2020-21 season. The team fired president John McDonough and now there's rumblings of who might be next. Unfortunately for one Blackhawks' prospect, he won't be able to see any of those changes up close. According to Scott Powers of The Athletic the team has informed a 2016 draft pick that he won't be getting an offer even though he was hoping for one. 2016 5th round pick Mathias From will be staying in Europe this year even though he was hoping to make his jump to North America this year. "The Blackhawks have informed prospect Mathias From they won't be offering him a contract, From's agent said on Tuesday. From was drafted by the Blackhawks in the fifth round in 2016. They officially hold his NHL rights until June 1. From recently agreed to a contract to play with Dusseldorfer in Germany next season, but he was still hopeful of a contract with the Blackhawks."The 22 year old had 12 goals and 13 assists in 49 games for MODO in Sweden last year.
