What Should the Blackhawks Do?
It's Draft Day, and all GM's around the NHL are very busy getting last minute plans together. Tonight is Day One of the two day event.
Kyle Davidson and the Blackhawks select first overall tonight, and will most definitely be taking generational young talent
Connor Bedard. But after that is where it gets a little dicey.
Chicago has eight picks in the first three rounds (two firsts, 4 seconds, and two thirds). The two firsts are at picks #1 and #19. But what should we do after we draft #1 overall?
Davidson should take the 19th pick and use it to move up in the draft. Possibly use #19 and #56 to move up a few spots, maybe take a bad contract off the team we're trading with. Also, experiment moving back up late in the first round (#25 and after). We picked three times last year, no reason we can't pick three times this year.
This class is way better than last year's class, so let's hope Kyle takes advantage of it.
