Just one day after playing in the Easter Sunday 6-1 loss to the Florida Panthers, the Captain of the Detroit Red Wings went into the hospital for core muscle surgery. The successful surgery took place yesterday, April 18, at McLaren Hospital in Lansing, MI. And not that there's much of a season left for the Wings, but Larkin will be out for the rest of it, as recovery time is slated from 8 to 10 weeks.

The Waterford, MI native was attending the University of Michigan when he was drafted by Detroit 15th overall in 2014, and now leads his team in goals (31) and points (69) from his 71 games. This is his second season as Captain, and he just celebrated his 500th career game on April 9th.
