The Blackhawks dynasty run was one for ages. The Blackhawks showed up to play every single night and received legendary performances from their homegrown stars. When the lights were bright, Patrick Kane shined. On this date nine years ago, Patrick Kane buried a backhander in overtime, once again eliminating the Minnesota Wild from the playoffs.
The Blackhawks eliminated the Wild for the second year in a row on their quest to repeat as Stanley Cup Champions. They ultimately fell short in game 7 of the Western Conference Final against the Los Angeles Kings that turned out to be an instant classic.
Patrick Kane led all Blackhawks in points that postseasons, racking up 20 points in 19 games. Jonathan Toews led the Blackhawks in goals with 9 during that run. The Hawks would bounce back with revenge in 2015, taking home their third Stanley Cup in six seasons.
