LVMPD Sheriff Kevin McMahill provided updates, stating that four individuals experienced panic attacks, and two officers received treatment for minor injuries. The suspect involved in the shootings was engaged and ultimately succumbed in a shootout with university police.

University Police Chief Adam Garcia revealed that the incident began with reports of shots fired on campus around 11:45 a.m. local time. Two university police detectives swiftly confronted the suspect, leading to a fatal confrontation, according to NBC NEWS

Ahead of the game between the St. Louis Blues and the Vegas Golden Knights, the Blues paid their respects with a moment of silence. The Vegas Golden Knights expressed gratitude, stating:

Thank you, @StLouisBlues."
